QuarterStorm Art-Rock

The group:

QuarterStorm is a group that produces original music which can in loose terms be classified as Art-Rock. Yet still, their musical language is richer because it is not influenced by pure rock genres only. QuarterStorm attempts to write melodic songs that do not draw from "approved" techniques. They aspire to be original, though not at the expense of the form.

The origins of QuarterStorm go back to the Spring of 2001 when Hanka Vaňková and Radim Chrobok joined forces in looking for other artists. In Autumn 2001 the bass guitar player Viktor Čermák arrives. In Spring of 2002, with the help of guitar player Martin "Mates" Kostka their first studio recording (a one-piece promo CD album "Dead Man") comes out. Táňa Dbalá, the singer who stood at the microphone back then, left the band in the first half of 2003. The saxophonist Kuba Doležal, who also took part in the recordings, joined the group first as a guest and later became its member.

In December 2002, after a short period of "courting" I enter the group to fill an empty guitar player space that the former Martin Kostka left behind. In May of 2003 the first public show in Žandov near Česká Lípa takes place. The singer Lada Soukupová becomes the last fixed member of the group.

In April 2004, after a year-long job in Viktor's studio and Hostivař Studio, the QuarterStorm band finishes their promo recording called "Prezentace 2004".
